CLOSED CIRCUIT - Rebreather
The Inspiration Closed Circuit Rebreather
The Inspiration Closed Circuit Rebreather is the first CE approved closed circuit breathing system: approved to 50 metres (40 metres recommended) with Air as the diluent gas and 100 metres with Heliox.
The Inspiration's oxygen controller automatically maintains a constant partial pressure of oxygen (ppO2) which gives an optimum breathing mixture at all depths. That is, it delivers an oxygen-rich mix throughout the dive and a super-oxygen-rich mix during decompression, resulting in significantly reduced deco obligations on every dive. |
 |
 |
With the benefits of dramatically increased No-Stop times and outstanding gas duration, perfect buoyancy control, warmer, quieter diving and no bubbles to frighten off wildlife - the Inspiration Closed Circuit rebreather is changing the way we dive, bringing a whole new experience to sport and commercial divers alike. |

INSPIRATION REBREATHER OPERATION
Gas flow through the Inspiration Until now closed circuit diving has been the exclusive preserve of specialist Military divers - with units manufactured only in limited numbers at considerable cost. The Inspiration breaks from this tradition, being the first affordable, commercially produced, fully closed circuit system - manufactured with the same production control, build quality and professional finish that distinguish all BUDDY products.
What is a fully closed circuit system?
Put simply, conventional diving, or SCUBA, is an Open Circuit system whereby gas is taken in via a demand valve and then exhaled into the surrounding water, wasting a large proportion of every breath. In contrast, the Inspiration is a Fully Closed Circuit system in which all of the exhaled breath is retained within a closed loop, filtered and refreshed and then recycled back to the diver for further use. Only during the ascent and mask clearing are bubbles emitted.

| A |
Exhaled breath leaves the diver's lungs and is directed into the Inspiration's Exhale Counterlung. |
| B |
It then travels via a series of water-traps, over the right shoulder into the Sofnolime "scrubber" unit (3) which filters out all trace of carbon dioxide waste - effectively scrubbing "clean" the breathing mix ready for re-use.
|
| C |
The Inspiration then measures the oxygen content(pp02) of this mix with three specially developed independent sensors and adds oxygen from the on-board 3 litre cylinder (1) to keep the pp02 up at the target level or Setpoint. |
| D |
Suitably scrubbed and refreshed, this breathing gas returns via the left shoulder and the Inhale Counterlung ready for use in the next breath. |
